LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT
Salary: Grade 3, SCP 4 - £7,954.90 to £13,258.20 (pay award pending)
Hours: 18-30 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (working 8.50 am to 3.35 pm - 6 hours per day)
Contract: Temporary until 31st August 2023
We are looking to appoint Learning Support Assistants to join our vibrant and driven Learning Support Team. Much of the work will involve support within mainstream classrooms but the successful candidate will also be expected to work with students on an individual or small group basis to develop literacy and numeracy, and for some of the time with students with complex physical needs who require one-to-one support. An ability to empathise with students who have difficulties with communication and social skills is essential.
Candidates should possess a good standard of education, initiative and an ability to communicate well with both teaching staff and students. GCSE Grade C, or equivalent, in Maths and English is essential, and A levels (or equivalent) are desirable. Experience of working in a classroom environment is also desirable.
We are ideally looking for applicants who will be able to work 30 hours per week. However, we would consider requests to work either 18 hours or 24 hours and the ability to work a Friday would be an advantage. Please state the number of hours and days that you are able to work in your supporting statement.
