SAFEGUARDING PRACTITIONER
Salary: £14,386.18 per annum (FTE - £20,903)
Hours of Work: 30 hours per week, 39 weeks per year
Required for September 2021. This is an exciting opportunity to join as a Safeguarding Practitioner and be part of a vibrant and supportive Safeguarding Team. This vacancy is being offered as a permanent role.
You will be expected to organise, attend and contribute to meetings with external agencies concerning individual students, ensuring all reports, recording systems and referrals are correct and up to date and to support students and their families. You should relate well to students, their families and staff, and be resilient in order to cope with difficult students/families, emotional situations, rejection and hostility. A positive attitude and robust personality is essential as well as being a team-player, but also able to work with minimum supervision, knowing when to seek support and advice. You will need have a flexible approach to all aspects of the job role and be able to organise your working day effectively, as some meetings may fall outside of your normal working day.
You will be required to have knowledge of multi-agency procedures in relation to safeguarding, including knowledge of Suffolk Safeguarding Procedures and how to submit a multi-agency referral form or Common Assessment Framework as well as knowledge of specific safeguarding issues as mentioned in the most up to date version of Keeping Children Safe in Education. You will also need to have a good working knowledge of Microsoft products and have English and Maths GCSE Grade C or above.
